Our Story
Every dream begins as a quiet whisper in the heart — a soft, persistent voice that one day turns into something beautiful.
Zashmin was born from such a whisper. A delicate dream nurtured by a young woman named Priyanka Sikdar, who found her first love not in fairy tales, but in fabrics, colors, and the graceful drape of a saree & ethnic wears.
From the earliest days of her childhood, Priyanka was captivated by the world of fashion. While other little girls played with dolls, she was drawn to her mother’s wardrobe — running her fingers over the soft silks, marveling at intricate patterns, enchanted by the quiet magic hidden in each saree. Dressing up wasn’t just play — it was a feeling, an experience of transformation.
Her mother’s hands would gently pleat the saree, tucking it neatly, helping young Priyanka admire herself in the mirror. That mirror reflected more than just clothes — it reflected grace, femininity, and a certain timeless power. As she grew, so did her love for ethnic wear. By her college days, Priyanka proudly wore sarees — not for occasions, but for simple outings, random evenings, or just a day spent with herself.
To her, wearing a saree wasn’t a costume. It was freedom… it was expression… it was home.
Through the laughter of college corridors and the chaos of deadlines, she carried her love for traditional clothing quietly, like a personal melody. She learned to drape her own sarees, style her kurtis, and experiment with ethnic combinations — each outfit telling its own little story of elegance.
But life had other plans. She went on to pursue her MBA, stepping into the world of business and ambition. Yet, the love for ethnic fashion stayed with her, gently nudging her heart.
One day, amidst business lectures and case studies, a thought bloomed — What if this love could become something more? What if every woman could feel what I feel?
A dream slowly began to take form. She didn’t want to just create clothes — she wanted to create moments, confidence, and a brand that felt like a reflection of every woman who adored elegance without sacrificing comfort.
And thus, Zashmin was born.
The name didn’t come from a corporate brainstorm. It came from the soft fragrance of Jasmine flowers, a childhood favorite, associated with beauty, grace, and purity. Inspired by the Persian-French word Yasamin, meaning gift from God, Priyanka found the perfect name for her brand — ZASHMIN — a label that would carry the fragrance of tradition, the purity of purpose, and the elegance of timeless fashion.
Zashmin is more than a clothing brand. It’s a love letter to Indian tradition, an ode to the modern woman who respects her roots but walks her own path.
